Roger Paredes

Senior Software Engineer I

Roger joined Valor in 2026 and serves as a Senior Software Engineer I on the Valor Labs team.

Prior to joining Valor, Roger was a Data Scientist at JPMorgan Chase, where he architected analytic products to deliver enterprise-wide data platform observability and telemetry insights. Previously, he worked at Discover Financial Services, building Machine Learning acquisition risk models. He began his career as a researcher at Rice University, publishing his AI/ML modeling work at AAAI and other high-impact venues.

Roger earned his Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Rice University. He also holds a B.S. and M.S. in Structural Engineering from the Central University of Venezuela and the Polytechnic University of Turin, completed through a dual-degree scholarship awarded to the top ten performing engineering students.
