Matt Baker

Principal

Matt Baker re-joined Valor in 2026 and serves as a Principal on Valor's Investor Relations Team, while supporting the CEO and senior members of the Firm on strategic initiatives and special projects.

Matt initially joined Valor in 2021 as a Vice President and Chief of Staff to Founder and CEO Antonio Gracias, following 18 years of service at the Central Intelligence Agency (“CIA”). In 2025, Matt left Valor to serve as Chief of Staff to the Director of National Intelligence (“DNI”), where he led internal operations, drove strategic coordination, and ensured the effective execution of the DNI's priorities across the Intelligence Community.  Prior to Valor, Matt held senior executive positions at the CIA and served in leadership roles around the world, driving innovation and strategic change while leading high-performing teams, including as an executive leader for the CIA's worldwide protective operations programs. He also previously served as a Special Agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration in Detroit.

Matt holds a B.A. and M.A. in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University.
