Mike Callahan

Materials Scientist

Mike joined Valor in 2026 as a Materials Scientist on the Valor Studio team.

Prior to joining Valor, Mike was a Senior Materials Engineer at Radiant Nuclear, where he was the responsible engineer for all metallic components in Radiant's Kaleidos microreactor. He has also worked as a materials engineer at ASML and as a postdoctoral researcher in the Materials Science Division of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Mike's research has focused on the relationships between processing, microstructure, and properties of metallic alloys. He is especially interested in how to optimize manufacturing processes to achieve component performance targets and the transfer of technologies from the academic space to practical application.

Mike completed his Ph.D. in materials science at CentraleSupélec, M.S. at École Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers, and B.S. at Pennsylvania State University.
