The Edward L. Kaplan New Venture Challenge (University of Chicago)

Over the course of the past 24 years, the Edward L. Kaplan, ’71, New Venture Challenge (NVC) at the University of Chicago has come to be known as one of the nation's top-ranked accelerator programs—graduating more than 330 startup companies and creating thousands of jobs in the process. The program's startups—which include such household names as Grubhub, Braintree/Venmo, and Simple Mills—have raised more than $1 billion in funding and achieved more than $7.5 billion in mergers and exits. This year, Valor Siren Ventures is proud to be a sponsor of the NVC, and will be making an investment of up to $250,000 in the next big food and retail technology idea.
